Sizzor Shak Gives Back on 9-11

Sizzor Shak Salon & Color Spa, located at 208 East Main in historic uptown Collinsville, hosted a special event for service men and women on Saturday, September 11th.

The salon welcomed the area’s brave police officers, fire fighters, and those currently serving in the United States Military with a FREE HAIRCUT.

Kaci Pierce, the salon coordinator, described the idea as the brainchild of stylist, Gretchen Gerstenecker.

“Gretchen came up with this idea last year, and when I approached our other stylists about it, they signed up right away,” said Pierce. “We were all very excited to give back to these men and women.”

Sizzor Shak offered the free haircuts from 2-5pm on Patriot’s Day. Pierce stated, “We will always remember what happened this day nine years ago; we want to honor these men and women for their bravery and patriotism.”
