Holiday Recipe – Hershey’s Disappearing Cake
You can never go wrong with chocolate cake! Everybody loves cake! Donna Thomas from “The Shak” is at it again with one of her amazing recipes! Once the photos were taken by Kyle Weber, the Shak Girls literally made this cake disappear – hence, the name! After one bite of this dessert, you’ll begin to understand how Donna is a baking genius! You will love this dessert!
Here Is What You’ll Need
Cake:
- 1/4 cup butter
- 1/4 cup shortening
- 2 cups sugar
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 2 eggs
- 3/4 cup Hershey’s cocoa
- 1 & 3/4 cups unsifted all-purpose flour
- 3/4 tsp. baking powder
- 3/4 tsp. baking soda
- 1/8 tsp. salt
- 1 & 3/4 cups milk
Posie Cream Frosting:
- 1 cup vegetable shortening
- 1/4 cup soft butter
- 3 cups confectioners sugar
- 1 & 1/2 tsp. vanilla
- 1/8 tsp. salt
- 3/4 cup cocoa
DIRECTIONS
Cake:
- Grease & flour 9-inch cake pans.
- Cream butter, shortening, sugar, & vanilla until fluffy; blend in eggs.
- Combine cocoa, flour, baking soda, & salt in bowl; add alternately with milk & batter.
- Blend well. Pour into pans.
- Bake at 350 degrees for 30-35 minutes. Cool 10 minutes.
Frosting:
- Mix together.
- Frost tops & sides.
- Add chocolate sprinkles (optional).
