We loved having Suzy at the Shak to get her hair & airbrush make up done for some new promotional shots for our salon & color spa. She is definitely a one-of-a-kind beauty & we absolutely loved how the photos turned out. We can’t to use them for our future marketing campaigns. Also, Hailey did a fantastic job getting Suzy’s look just right for the photoshoot with Kyle Weber. Take a peek!

The Top 5 – Sizzor Shak’s Next Top Model 2012

Thank you to everyone who voted in Round 2 of Sizzor Shak’s Next Top Model! Again, we had thousands of votes trickle in & we are flattered at how many of you are participating! The voting this round was even more intense than the last round! In fact, the 5th, 6th, 7th, & 8th positions were all within 5 votes of each other so it was really anyone’s game!

Out of the 13 girls who made it to Round 2, the 5 with the most votes at the end of this last voting week are advancing to the next round.

The Top 12 – Sizzor Shak’s Next Top Model 2012

Thank you to everyone who voted in Round 1 of Sizzor Shak’s Next Top Model! We had thousands of votes pour in & we graciously thank you for your patience & for your participation! We couldn’t be more excited about how intense the voting got!

Out of the 42 girls who entered the competition, the 12 with the most votes at the end of the voting week are advancing to the next round, with one exception. In the fashion of American Idol, we have thrown an exciting twist into the mixture! The Shak Girls got to save someone! This is how we did it: each Shak Girl got to choose their 3 favorite contestants out of those who didn’t advance to the top 12, then we tallied up all of their votes, & that determined who the Shak Girls saved. So our top 12 just got a little addition!

Congratulations to those who have advanced & thank you so much to everyone who entered the competition!

A few weeks ago, Miss Oklahoma Morgan Woolard stopped into Sizzor Shak before her photo shoot with photographer, Kyle Weber. We styled her beautiful blonde hair & gave her an amazing make over with our airbrushed make up. She looked stunning!

Spring Style

Finally … spring has sprung! It is time to pack up our sweaters and corduroys and break out our florals and stripes … both of which made a bold appearance on the runways during New York Fashion Week.

Other trends spotted on the runways:

Crisp whites – from soft tees to flowing skirts. Calvin Klein showcased tailored white pants suits in his collection. Wear white alone, or pair with this season’s bold colors and fantastic prints for a great spring look.

Nautical – pair those whites with naval stripes, bright primary colors, and you’ll be set for a high fashion day!

70’s style – flouncy and fluid clothes with a vintage feel. Also called pajama dressing, this look feels casual and luxurious at the same time.
Another nod to the seventies seen on the runways: belted wide-leg pants, high waists, and denim on denim ensembles.

Eclectic Chic – get the best use out of your fashion investment by embracing this look. Eclectic chic embodies flounces paired with structured jackets, mixing and matching prints and textures, and embracing a crepey silhouette.
