Spring Is In Session

Spring is here!!! Two weeks ago it was snowing and sleeting … and today the sun is out, the temperature is warm, and the dogwoods are in bloom. I love the unpredictability of this season!

Of course, I might be one of the few that doesn’t mind an unexpected snowfall. Some have teased me about having a Pollyanna complex, but it’s true that you can find things to be glad about if you make up your mind to.

Some one made a comment to me the other day that this year is going too fast. She was scheduling an appointment here at the salon for the end of April, and we were both amazed – it seemed like last week I was switching my date book to 2011.

So I challenge you (and myself as well) to find a time where you can slow down. Sit outside for a bit, watch the birds at play, read a book, cut some flowers – whatever gives you a sense of serenity and peace. Do something that brings enjoyment to that hour and don’t let this day go by quickly.

“Nothing can bring back the hour of splendor in the grass, of glory in the flower…”
Ode: Intimations of Immortality by William Wordsworth
